About

From pixels to platforms.

I’m Alex Fuller, a technologist and founder based in Sioux City, Iowa. I got my start in design, building website templates in Photoshop and going deep on the front end.

I obsessed over the interface. Gradients, inner glows, strokes, and pixel-level polish were where I lived, and above all I cared about type. I spent as much time choosing and pairing typefaces, dialing in weight and letter-spacing, and tuning hierarchy as I did on anything else, because typography is what a visitor actually reads. Good type carries a design even when nothing else announces itself.

That craft found an audience well beyond Iowa. I ended up designing the front end of websites for companies across the United States and in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Design work pulled in more work. It grew into advertising, banners, and logos, and that in turn became the marketing side of the business.

I launched my own company and started competing in entrepreneurial competitions. At Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, my business partner and I took second place for Autopromotive, an idea that turned everyday vehicles and daily commutes into moving billboards.

In 2010 the agency became Eagle Cove Media (LegitDesigns, LLC), where I do development, custom software, and advertising for small businesses across Siouxland and beyond. Over the years the front-end designer became a full-stack builder. Today I write the applications, provision the servers, manage the DNS, and keep it all running.

In 2015 I started a recurring dog-waste-removal company. Not the obvious move for a web developer, but it let me do the thing I enjoy most: build the operational software a real business lives on. Its scheduling, routing, and billing all run on a field-service platform I wrote from scratch in Laravel. Alongside those I run AM Group, a direct-to-consumer decal brand with the storefront and fulfillment built in-house.

I also build custom internal applications for multi-million-dollar companies whose operations depend on mission and time-sensitive systems. The kind of software where “it’s down” is not an acceptable sentence.

Building it is only half the job. Every application goes through extensive testing and security auditing before it carries real work: application hardening, audit logging, and the kind of review that keeps a live system trustworthy under load.
